The course develops an understanding of the theoretical and practical components of occupational therapy, with a focus on general and specialist knowledge and skills. A combination of coursework and clinical experiences prepares students for work in diverse health care environments with the expertise to support people to live independently and take part in in everyday activities to improve their wellbeing.
Students complete professional placement in aged care, hospitals, community health, mental health services, schools, industrial environments, private practice, and a variety of health centres. Teaching resources include simulation equipment, splinting facilities, daily living lab for clinical and therapeutic techniques, anatomy and physiology labs.
Biological sciences, professional areas, social sciences. Optional major: Indigenous health.
