Overview

Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people pursuing undergraduate study now have unparalleled access into a range of globally recognised degrees at Monash University. The Indigenous Entry Scheme offers applicants admission to the degrees with a significantly lower Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) requirement. There are no special classes, extra requirements or time added to the course for students admitted under the Indigenous Entry Scheme and students will graduate with the same Monash degree as any other student.

This course offers a rewarding and satisfying career in a challenging and dynamic environment. You will study foundation units such as structure and function of the human body, human development and the Australian health care system as well as develop core knowledge and skills to treat cardiovascular, respiratory, mental health, traumatic and medical emergencies; as well as the specific care of maternal, neonatal, geriatric and paediatric patients.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

As for Year 12 (or Year 12 equivalent).

Majors

Emergency health, Human health, Paramedic practice, Paramedical sciences, Paramedicine.

The type of careers this qualification leads to may include Paramedic, National & international ambulance services, Private ambulance services, Industrial sector paramedic services, and Community-based emergency health services (CBEH).
