This course has replaced the Bachelor of Creative Industries (Theatre and Performance) (244321).
The Bachelor of Performance (Theatre Making) is an interdisciplinary program that prepares students for a range of creative careers both on- and off-stage. Students develop the creativity, strategic thinking, and practical skills required for success in the creative arts, through the design, development, and delivery of live and digital performance projects. The program offers collaborative training in a diverse set of performance, creative, and production management skills. Graduates of the program are research-led practitioners with a strong grounding in dramatic history, theory, and criticism, who are able to apply both critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills to develop original creative projects across a wide range of disciplines.
This course aims to provide training across three domains: performance skills (interpreting and performing texts), creative skills (writing, devising, and collaborating), and production management skills (producing, planning, and managing). We aim to graduate multi-hyphenate theatre makers who are prepared to pursue a diverse range of creative careers.
Graduates will have the creativity, strategic thinking, and practical skills required for success in the creative and cultural industries, specifically in the design, development and delivery of theatre and performance projects across a range of creative and production roles. They are able to work adaptively with new media and disruptive technologies in a fast-changing industry environment.
The ATAR and Selection Rank profile is not available as this is a new course.
