Overview

The Bachelor of Philosophy offers a comprehensive education in the history, major domains and contemporary issues of philosophy. Students will develop capabilities in thinking and arguing well, and performing conceptual analysis. By tackling the most fundamental questions of existence, students will sharpen skills that are vital for success in any field.

This program embraces a historical and general approach to the philosophical issues that arise in every aspect of life, including ethics, politics, history, technology, health, religion and culture. Subjects consider how ideas form the world in which we live, through looking at metaphysics, logic, political philosophy, language, art and aesthetics, science and education.
When combined with a Master of Teaching, the program provides an ideal qualification for those wishing to teach Philosophy in schools, as well as those wishing to proceed with postgraduate studies.

History of philosophy, moral and political philosophy, philosophy of the human person, philosophy of culture. Majors available in: Behavioural science, English literature, history, politics and international relations, social justice, theology.
