Overview

This degree prepares graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills to progress to postgraduate studies and training in psychology for those intending to pursue registration as a psychologist. The psychology sequence provides comprehensive coverage of psychology, including lifespan development, biological, social and abnormal psychology, individual differences, psychological and research methods, as well as other areas of applied psychology. The Exercise Science component focuses on the roles and benefits of exercise and healthy lifestyles in the contexts of elite sport, recreational physical activity as well as community health and wellbeing.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: As for Year 12 or equivalent.

Majors

Exercise and Sports Science, Psychology.

Potential Career Outcomes

Counselling, community work, education, health, human resources, marketing and market research, registered practising psychologist (with postgraduate study), exercise, sports science, sport psychology.
