Develop practical teaching skills and a high-level knowledge of science when you study science education at UOW. You will play a critical role in our communities as you learn to educate high school children on the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.

You'll benefit by learning from recognised and passionate leaders in their fields in this academically rigorous program. You will learn the core fundamentals of science across practical and theoretical subjects throughout your degree, alongside education and pedagogy subjects that allow you to impart your scientific knowledge in a classroom setting. You will complete extensive professional experience throughout your degree, which allows you to learn by observation and apply your skills in the classroom. During your studies you will have opportunities for rural and international professional experiences, to study overseas with UOW's international exchange and study abroad partners, and to join international cultural immersion programs. Throughout this degree, you will gain hands-on experience in the community and make meaningful professional connections.
Educational theory and practice, science. Students will select an area of specialisation from one of the following areas: Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Physics.
Teaching science in government and non-government secondary schools and related occupations in commercial, industrial and government areas.
