This course aims to provide students in depth understanding of plant diversity, physiology, biochemistry, development, genetics, ecology, and crop production. They will explore how plants survive and thrive in their environment and what strategies we can employ to maintain plant productivity in response to global climate change.
In this course, students will explore the principles of cell biology, biochemistry and physiology of plants, a resource critical for existence of humans and animals on our planet. The degree aims to prepare graduates who have developed extensive knowledge in both the theoretical and the practical aspects of plant science and have completed coursework designed to address topical concerns in industry and society preparing them for employment in related fields such as agriculture, horticulture, conservation, ecology and biotechnology.
