Overview

This course focuses on the promotion of social change and development through social policy. You will learn about the nature of social policy and social work, as well as historical and contemporary debates in policy and practice. There is a strong emphasis on research and theories informing policy and practice, and Australian and comparative social welfare studies. To assist in your preparation for field education, you will undergo intensive learning in study groups and engage in case studies and research on ethical issues. For students interested in research there is an opportunity to complete honours.
