Overview

In this Bachelor of Software Engineering course, you will learn how to understand and solve complex problems using innovative software solutions. This course focuses on the whole software development life cycle. As well as developing excellent programming and managerial skills, you’ll also learn to assess and meet customer needs so you can design, code, test and manage large and complex software systems.

Our first year adopts an industry-inspired model of learning-by-doing. This is accomplished through bootcamps and project-based learning studios designed to set up graduates as successful life-long achievers.

Your industry placement in the third year provides a unique opportunity to develop your professional and technical skills while creating and extending your professional network.

By completing this course, you will have cutting-edge industry knowledge and skills that are essential for career as a software engineer with the potential to move into a leadership role.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English other than EAL or at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL); Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in one of Maths: General Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
