Speech pathologists are allied health professionals responsible for the assessment and treatment of children and adults with communication and swallowing disorders. This is used across a range of practice areas including speech, language, voice, fluency, swallowing and multimodal communication. When you undertake a Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours) at the University of Newcastle, you will have the opportunity to study with award-winning researchers and gain an understanding of the profession through substantial clinical experience. Speech pathologists work across a variety of settings and sectors including in hospitals, community health centres, schools (e.g., preschools, kindergarten, primary, secondary, early intervention, etc.), private practice/clinics (in-clinic, mobile), aged care facilities, universities, rehabilitation services, mental health services, the justice system, services for people with complex communication needs, health promotion, research, and health services. Concurrent
