Overview

La Trobe's Bachelor of Sport Coaching and Development prepares students for employment in coaching, coach education, sport science and sport development.

Learn a range of skills in athlete performance, sport management, fundamental sport science and advanced coaching sciences. The course places a focus on sport management subjects along with subjects addressing more advanced aspects of sport coaching and performance analysis.

Gain practical, hands-on sport coaching experience from one of Australia’s leading sports universities and apply your theoretical knowledge to real-life situations with sport coaching placements and internships.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in two of Biology, Chemistry, Health And Human Development, any Mathematics, Physical Education or Physics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
