Overview

If you’re thinking about a career in community sport and recreation, or if you’re looking for a pathway into Health and PE (HPE) teaching, this degree is for you.
This course offers two options to becoming a registered Health and PE teacher. If after completing first year, you have maintained a good academic standard, you may be eligible to apply for a transfer into second year of the Bachelor of Secondary Education (Health and Physical Education Teaching).
Alternatively, you may continue into a Master of Teaching in either secondary or primary teaching, and qualify as a Victorian Institute of Teaching registered teacher within 4.5 years.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in any English; Units 1 and 2: satisfactory completion in two units (any study combination) of Maths: General Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics or Units 3 and 4: any Mathematics.

Sport leadership and community sport, physical activity/health educator, coaching and development, youth programs coordinator, group fitness instructor, health advocacy, adventure guide, eco-tour guide, outdoor recreation officer, outdoor educator and recreational activities instructor.
