Overview

Appreciate complex environmental, economic and societal challenges, while building a diverse range of skills needed to provide solutions for sustainable futures when you study sustainability at UOW. You will gain an understanding of the complexities underlying sustainability challenges, and the ability to manage them in a volatile world. You will develop career- relevant skills in a practical setting and have the opportunity to learn first-hand how other countries are tackling sustainability challenges. On completion, you will be ready to enter a broad and evolving career in the fast-growing ‘green economy’.

You'll benefit by learning from recognised and passionate leaders in their fields in this multidisciplinary degree that spans human geography, health and society, economics, politics, and management. You will gain skills in logical and critical thinking, creative problem-solving, practical research, computer applications (including geographic information systems), and strong communication skills.

Throughout this degree, you will gain hands-on experience and make meaningful professional connections across industries using our technology-integrated learning methods. You will be uniquely equipped to deal with the challenges and jobs of the future, with career opportunities in sustainable planning and development, culture and heritage management, policy analysis and advocacy, as well as planning roles in local, state and federal governments.
