Elevate your creative and visual design skills with the Bachelor of Visual Communication Design program at the University of Newcastle. This program develops students visual design expertise through hands-on experience, in-depth design training and creative exploration. Whether you major in animation and interaction, graphic design and illustration, or creative arts, you'll have the opportunity to hone your skills, explore new techniques, and understand how visual communication concepts create visually stunning projects across all media fields. By graduation, you'll be equipped with a deep understanding of how visual communication powers creative design ideas and have a portfolio to match, ready for a dynamic career in graphic design, UX and interaction design, animation, illustration, branding, art, and more.
You will have the option to major in one of following areas: animation and interaction, creative arts or graphic design and illustration. Other major options are available alongside your visual communication design major, so you can combine your major with media arts production, public relations or songwriting and production.
Art director, concept artist, graphic designer, animator, illustrator information architect, publication designer, web designer, UX designer, illustrator, storyboard artist, creative director, comic and graphic novel artist, and media artist.
