Overview

Wie geht's? Germany is Europe's largest economy. Along with Austria and Switzerland, it holds an important place in Australia's trading circles. The impact of German culture on Australia, especially in South Australia, is profound. Today, the German language continues to play a vital role as a heritage language - and a language of opportunity.

What will you do?

Our Diploma in Languages (German Studies) is set up so you can study a language alongside your primary degree. It will usually add an extra year to your time at university. You will:

  • learn to speak, read and write German
  • develop an understanding and appreciation of German culture
  • build insights into Germany's economy
  • improve your knowledge of how language works
Where could it take you?

You could work in banking or business. You might be an international diplomat. Perhaps you'll pursue teaching, tourism, communications, or the creative arts. Adding a language to your resume will give you a competitive edge in almost every single field.
