Overview

La Trobe's Diploma of Biological Sciences and Bachelor of Biological Sciences course package gives you a direct pathway to the Bachelor of Biological Sciences if you didn’t meet the entry requirements.

In the Diploma you’ll study in the same subjects and classes as Bachelor students while receiving additional support with enrolment, subject selection and university systems. Upon successful completion of the Diploma you will move directly into the second year La Trobe's Bachelor of Biological Sciences receiving advanced standing for the subjects you have already completed.

With the Bachelor of Biological Sciences you’ll gain a strong scientific grounding with the flexibility to specialise in an area that interests you, including biochemistry, botany, ecology, genetics, human physiological sciences, microbiology and zoology.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Majors

Biological sciences.
