La Trobe's Diploma of Biological Sciences builds the foundations you need for further study in life sciences and gives you a supported pathway into a degree in biological sciences.

Explore the essential elements of life sciences, including biology and chemistry, and build the skills to write and speak about basic scientific ideas to a wide range of audiences.

Study alongside Bachelor's degree students, so you'll immerse yourself in university life and earn up to one year's worth of course credit to enter into the second year of a La Trobe Bachelor degree in biological sciences.

We'll be with you every step on the way. As a Diploma student, you'll get access to a dedicated Senior Support Adviser and peer mentors from your discipline.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
