Overview

A Diploma of Business Information Systems focuses on the introduction and development of skills to prepare you for a career as an information systems professional. You will learn critical academic skills, and knowledge and applications of information systems across a variety of businesses.

The course is made up of six core subjects and two elective subjects. Successful completion of the Business Information Systems diploma will guarantee entry into the second year of the Bachelor of Business Information Systems. Learning outcomes

  • Establish technical knowledge in planning, designing, implementing and maintaining information systems
  • Discover how information systems are used as analytical tools
  • Learn to adapt your approach and skills to a variety of workplace environments
  • Understand which solutions are realistic and achievable
Note: Flexible study options are available including on-campus, online or a hybrid of both.

Areas of Study: Data and networking, foundations of information systems, information systems for business, information systems project management planning, business communications.

Career Opportunities: Database administrator assistant, Business process and requirements analysis support personnel, e-marketing and communications assistant, ICT project administrator, information centre operator, online content specialist.
