Overview

The Diploma of Commerce provides an introduction to general business studies. This program introduces you to fundamental knowledge and concepts in business, and develops your technical skills.

Through your studies in this diploma, you will explore key business subject areas, including accounting, management, information systems, business law, and marketing. 


You will connect with high profile brands and get real-world work experience through industry placements, client projects, guest speakers, seminars and events in a friendly and social environment, led by industry-experienced teaching staff.

This program is equivalent to the first year of undergraduate business degrees and will facilitate articulation into the Second Year of the AD029 Associate Degree in Business and also the second year of the BP343 Bachelor of Business Program at RMIT.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in English other than EAL or at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Majors

Business Decision Making, Business in Society, Integrated Perspectives on Business Problems, Understanding the Business Environment.

The Diploma of Commerce provides you with various opportunities to develop skills for direct work outcomes as well as facilitate a transition to further education through embedded business communication and academic learning skills. Career opportunities for graduates exist in both public and private business sectors, small and large enterprises and across a range of industries.
