Overview

This course is part of Swinburne’s 2024 Early Entry Program. You will be selected for entry based on your subject study scores and school recommendation, instead of your ATAR. To be eligible, you must submit an online application and preference this course in VTAC. Learn more 

Learn about the history of art and culture, and how it informs contemporary design. Develop critical thinking skills to offer solutions to design challenges. Get practical skills in how to understand and use design terminology and communicate your ideas through a range of mediums.

Grow your technical expertise in graphic design, including printed media, branding, illustration and packaging. Find out how to create visual impact through photography, web design and digital publishing, and explore the world of 3D design.

On successful completion of the UniLink diploma, you can move straight into a Bachelor of Design at Swinburne, adding no additional time or money to your studies.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in English other than EAL or at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL); Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in one of Art Creative Practice, Product Design And Technology, Media, Creative And Digital Media (VCE VET) I, Art Making And Exhibiting or Visual Communication Design.

20th century design, Brand and identity design, Communication for design, Design for web, Design studio, Digital design, Introduction to photography.
