This course is part of Swinburne’s 2024 Early Entry Program. You will be selected for entry based on your subject study scores and school recommendation, instead of your ATAR. To be eligible, you must submit an online application and preference this course in VTAC. Learn more

You’ll learn how to make evaluations and calculations when designing and planning a project. Get broad knowledge of material analysis, kinematics, and sustainable practices. Develop practical skills in critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making. This diploma will prepare you for further study in engineering fields.

On successful completion of the Diploma of Engineering (UniLink), you can move straight into a Bachelor of Engineering at Swinburne, adding no additional time or money to your studies.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in English other than EAL or at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL); Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in one of Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics.

Majors

Calculus and applications, Digital technology in an indigenous context, Energy and motion, Engineering design and innovation, Fundamentals of programming, Linear algebra and applications, Materials and processes, Mechanics of structure.

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) can lead to a broad range of careers in civil, construction, architectural, electrical and electronic, telecommunication, software, mechanical, biomedical, robotics and mechatronics, or product design engineering.
