Overview

In this program, you'll explore a variety of study areas - like the relationship between land and culture, the science that allows plants and animals to grow and flourish, environmental management, and business and communication. The Diploma in General Studies (Extended) is a pathway into University of Melbourne degrees for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who may not meet the regular Diploma in General Studies (DiGS) entry requirements. DiGS (Extended) is a 1.5-year program taught at our Dookie campus. You'll start the diploma with exclusive subjects that draw on perspectives from physical and social sciences and Indigenous communities, before transitioning to the standard DiGS course structure (see here). Once you've completed DiGS (Extended) you can be eligible for guaranteed entry into select University of Melbourne degrees - just like the DiGS program.
