La Trobe's Diploma of Information Technology is designed to be a supported pathway into your dream IT degree or set you up to enter the industry in an entry level role.

At La Trobe, you'll build a strong foundation in core IT subjects, such as programming and cybersecurity. You'll study alongside Bachelor's degree students from day one and get a taste of university life.

Depending on the subjects you've studied, you could graduate from the Diploma of Information Technology with up to one year's worth of course credit, so you can transfer directly into the second year of your chosen IT degree at La Trobe.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Majors

Information technology.

Potential Career Outcomes

Graduates of the Diploma of Information Technology can pursue further study or entry-level roles across the field of ICT.
