Overview

La Trobe’s Diploma of Information Technology and Bachelor of Information Technology package gives you a direct pathway to the Bachelor of Information Technology if you didn’t meet the entry requirements or would like additional support as you transition to university.

In the Diploma you’ll study in the same subjects and classes as Bachelor students while receiving additional support with enrolment, subject selection and university systems from a dedicated Senior Support Advisor.

Upon successful completion of the Diploma you will move directly into the second year of the Bachelor of Information Technology, receiving advanced standing for the subjects you have already completed.*

La Trobe’s Bachelor of Information Technology will prepare you to enter the workforce equipped with both the confidence and practical skills you'll need to succeed.

You'll establish important foundations in programming, IT fundamentals and data-based critical thinking.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Majors

Information technology.

Upon completion of this course package you could work across almost any sector – including technology, communications, education, finance, government, healthcare and energy.
