Overview

This course is part of Swinburne’s 2024 Early Entry Program. You will be selected for entry based on your subject study scores and school recommendation, instead of your ATAR. To be eligible, you must submit an online application and preference this course in VTAC. Learn more  

Learn how to conduct scientific research and solve conceptual problems. Get practical skills in data modelling and analysis, as well as computer-based analysis. Develop a broad understanding of laboratory analyses and chemical reactions. This diploma will prepare you for further study towards working in professional scientific environments, such as hospitals, laboratories and education.

On successful completion of the Diploma of Science (UniLink), you can move straight into a Bachelor of Science, adding no additional time or money to your studies.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in English other than EAL or at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL); Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in any Mathematics.

Majors

Calculus and applications, Chemistry, Introduction to biology, Statistics 101, Sustainable and innovative design in engineering projects.

Potential Career Outcomes

The type of careers the Bachelor of Science leads to may include physicist, biologist, industrial chemist, food technologist, environmental scientist, laboratory technician or scientist.
