The Graduate Certificate in Mental Health Practice is an interdisciplinary award designed to equip practitioners to support people experiencing mental health issues. Students will be introduced to the mental health care system in Australia and the competencies required to work effectively in the mental health field. The award is based on the Mental Health Competencies in the National Standards for the Mental Health Workforce* as part of the National Mental Health Strategy. Graduates also have a direct pathway into post-graduate study in Counselling at UNE (ie: the Graduate Diploma in Counselling and the Master of Counselling).
*As the competencies upon which PACFA Clinical Registrants are assessed for inclusion on the PACFA National Register as a Mental Health Practitioner are also based upon these National Standards, completion of this course may be of benefit to applicants.
The ATAR and Selection Rank profile is not available for this course.
