Overview

The purpose of the Undergraduate Certificate in Education Studies is to provide an opportunity to make an informed assessment about education in non-school settings as a career. The course provides a basic introduction to curriculum knowledge that can be used for careers in educative settings that include but are not limited to Community Education, Local Government and not for profit organisations. The course develops knowledge, skills and attributes that will be useful in a range of occupations and can also serve as a strong basis for further tertiary study.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.

Majors

Education studies.

Potential Career Outcomes

This course provides a qualification for those wishing to work in educational settings where teacher registration is not required for employment purposes. Students would acquire skills and knowledge that would allow them to work in a range of education settings. Graduates are qualified to enter the Bachelor of Education Studies (EBST).
