Overview

The Undergraduate Certificate in Information Technology is a 6 month qualification designed to provide you with foundational knowledge in the areas of computer hardware, programming, software, data communications, security and computer networks. You will also complete subjects that build on your transferable skills and teach you how to communicate your abilities to potential employers.

During the course you will develop a deeper understanding of the social and environmental impacts of technology as well as undertaking study to improve skills in academic and professional communication, critical thinking and employability.

After successful completion you may be eligible to articulate into La Trobe’s Bachelor of Information Technology with credit for undergraduate subjects already completed as part of this course. The course is delivered online with online support for maximum flexibility.

Prerequisites

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated completion of Year 11 (minimum) and at least three years of employment.

Majors

Information technology.
