Overview

This course consists of a series of units that will develop your understanding of key psychological areas such as memory, language and cognition, personality, health and stress and social psychology. You will also be introduced to foundational research design principles and qualitative and quantitative research methods.

The Undergraduate Certificate in Psychological Studies also offers a pathway into the Bachelor of Psychological Studies, Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and other psychology courses offered at VU.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Majors

Psychological studies.

Potential Career Outcomes

Graduates of this course are eligible to receive credit for their studies and apply for entry into the Bachelor of Psychological Studies, Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) courses and other psychology courses offered at VU. Completion of the Psychological Studies Certificate can provide evidence of foundational knowledge in psychology and research related skills.
