Assessment
Annotations of readings (20%), 1500 word essay (30%), New Society Board Game (50%)
Assumed Knowledge
Really there's nothing you need to know! Although if you had some understanding of how democracy works that would be helpful as well as different political parties and ideologies. Otherwise you just learn it which is fine!
Comments
Some parts of this subject are very interesting as it explores how young people can be active citizens in their local community. The one criticism of this subject would be the board game assessment which was intended to be fun but really wasn't - it was too hard to try make a board game on politics that contained theory fun. As hard as our tutor tried, the majority of our tutorial stayed quiet during class discussions so that made the tutorials pretty boring at times too.

Notes / Materials Available
I have some notes but this subject did not require much note-taking at all. The lectures were relatively self-explanatory. Most notes would apply to information from tutorials.
