Overview

The RMIT Associate Degree in Aviation (Professional Pilots) provides accredited training to develop the skills and experience needed for you to become a professional pilot.  

The course meets the Commercial Pilot Licensing (CPL) requirements of Australia's Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).

You will develop the necessary skills to also apply for the Recreational Pilots Licence (RPL), the Private Pilot's Licence (PPL) and frozen Air Transport Pilots Licence (ATPL). Through elective studies, you may also obtain a Multi-Engine Command Instrument Rating or Flight Instructor Rating.

You will train at either the Point Cook or Bendigo Campus. The Point Cook Airfield is a purpose-built, pilot training complex at the former home of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) No 1 Flying Training School. Whilst the Bendigo Airfield offers students the opportunity to train with newly-acquired Cessna 172 with glass cockpits in addition to our existing fleet.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in English other than EAL or at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL); Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in one of Maths: General Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
