This Associate Degree is available to students seeking a program that delivers knowledge and skills to support professional development in the health industry. You will develop the ability to critically approach new challenges in contemporary healthcare and be equipped to enter the workforce in a variety of health-related sectors. Developing a suite of transferable skills that are relevant to a variety of health environments and can be built on with further study. This degree is two years of full-time study (or the part-time equivalent) meaning you can head into the workforce with confidence in your knowledge and skills.

Flinders' city campus at Festival Plaza is a place where potential meets possibility. Offering a broad range of study areas, this unique, modern space in the heart of Adelaide is designed for collaborative learning, interactive teaching and industry engagement. Positioned adjacent to the Adelaide Railway Station on North Terrace and central to trams and buses, Festival Plaza provides students with greater connection, convenience and accessibility when selecting their preferred study location.

Please note only Year 1 topics of this course will be available in 2024. If you have been granted credit transfer or wish to apply for credit transfer for this course on the basis of previous study and you are granted credit, this may mean you will not be able to enrol in Year 2 or higher year topics, nor able to enrol on a full-time basis until 2025.

This is a multidisciplinary degree that aims to prepare you for a career or further study in the diverse modern healthcare environment. The flexible program of study begins with core topics in communication and interprofessional practice, human bioscience, Indigenous health for health sciences, contemporary health issues in Australia, and research and study skills. Students can also choose from a range of elective and option topics.

This degree will open the door to various workplace settings, including corporate or government departments, not-for-profit organisations, or community health centres and articulates with the Bachelor of Health Sciences (SATAC code 284371) with full credit available.
