Overview

This course focuses on environmental sustainability in line with global engineering trends.

You'll learn how to minimise environmental impacts and make a difference to the world by introducing environmentally sustainable practices to major projects; reducing environmental pollution; and helping to mitigate and remediate environmental disasters.

Gain skills to help the community understand and prepare for the impacts and effects of climate change on water resources, agriculture and urban environments.

You can take minors in sustainable water management, humanitarian innovation or geomechanics and develop skills to conduct environmental impact assessments, and factor environmental considerations into all stages of engineering projects.

You can also take part in industry projects, field trips and site visits (including overseas intensives) to build practical and professional skills relevant to the global environmental engineering profession allowing you to become job ready

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in one of Maths: Further Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Majors

Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, Water Engineering.
