Overview

How can we fix wealth inequality? What's the fastest way to a clean environment? How do we improve access to healthcare and education?

Economics studies how human behaviour impacts the economy and how governments handle problems like unemployment, international trade, and taxes amid global complexities.

What will you do?

Our Bachelor of Arts (Economics) has a strong focus on teamwork, collaboration, and industry internships. You will:

  • study microeconomics, which includes natural resource management and environmental issues
  • learn about macroeconomics - the growth and stability of the overall system
  • explore econometrics'the maths and statistics behind the discipline
  • acquire advanced techniques for the analysis and management of data
  • understand how economics informs policy design and business strategy
In addition to economics, our Bachelor of Arts program allows you to explore other interests by taking a minor (or another major) in a different discipline area. You can choose elective courses from the broadest range of study areas in the Arts in South Australia.

Where could it take you?

You could be a health economist with a pharmaceutical group - or gather data to help reduce food waste. You might influence public policy for a better world by advising government agencies, think tanks, or nonprofits. Perhaps you'll work with top-level executives to improve decision-making and solve complex business problems.
