Want to connect with the roots of Western thought? Modern Greek, the Greek language known in the modern era, is spoken by approximately 13-15 million people worldwide. Learning its intricacies can open doors in a changing world and connect you with a rich cultural heritage.

What will you do?

Our Bachelor of Arts (Modern Greek Studies) has a strong focus on teamwork, collaboration, and industry internships. You will:

  • learn to speak, read and write Modern Greek
  • explore Greek culture and history
  • understand the influence of other societies on ancient and contemporary Greece
  • improve your knowledge of how language works
  • study Greek influence in modern society and the Western world
In addition to Modern Greek Studies, our Bachelor of Arts program allows you to explore other interests by taking a minor (or another major) in a different discipline area. You can choose elective courses from the broadest range of study areas in the Arts in South Australia.

Where could it take you?

You could work in a museum, as a diplomat, in policy, or at film festivals. You might pursue international business, helping companies with communication and cultural understanding. Perhaps you're interested in teaching, tourism, or interpretation.
