Overview

As an RMIT aviation student, you’ll get prepared for employment in a range of operational, management and piloting roles in the dynamic and vibrant aviation industry.

This course focuses on pilot training.

Through this course you’ll gain the necessary theory along with the flight training to become a professional pilot, with a Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) recognised Commercial Pilot's Licence (CPL) once all relevant training and examinations have been completed. You’ll also develop skills and knowledge in aviation operations and management, and have opportunity to tailor your degree to your preferred area of future employment.

The course also offers a career development option for people who already hold a Commercial Pilot's Licence accredited by CASA, as these applicants will gain credit for up to one year (96 credit points).

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English other than EAL or at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL); Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 20 in one of Maths: General Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
