If you have been granted credit transfer or wish to apply for credit transfer for this course on the basis of previous study and you are granted credit, this may mean you will not be able to enrol in Year 2 or higher year topics, nor able to enrol on a full-time basis until 2025.
The Bachelor of Banking and Finance provides students with the opportunity to develop broad banking and finance knowledge and competencies to facilitate careers in business-related fields. This degree has a particular focus on application of banking and finance and knowledge, competencies and capabilities to diverse and global commercial business/organisational contexts. Students will apply their banking and finance knowledge and competencies to a broad range of commercial business/organisational practices including systems and processes, planning, production, operations and the use of current and emerging data and analytical practices.
On completion of this degree students will be able to critically apply broad theoretical and technical accounting, finance, economic and management knowledge and skills to inform banking and finance business planning and strategy and analyse banking and finance business practices and decisions using theoretical and technical knowledge of regulatory, governance, compliance and legal requirements. Students will be able to apply theoretical knowledge, technical competencies and critical judgement to provide solutions to routine banking and finance business problems and explain the impact of socially responsible, ethical, economic, regulatory, sustainability, governance and global perspectives on banking and finance business planning and practices.
This degree prepares graduates for a career in a range of public and private sectors in Australia and internationally. Potential occupations may include investment banker, stockbroker and tax agent; potential employers may include accounting firms, financial management firms and government departments.
