Overview

Get an accredited accounting qualification within a broader business context. This course offers career-specific learning in areas such as accounting, auditing, business, law, finance, forensic accounting, public sector accounting and taxation.

In first year, you'll study a range of business disciplines such as economics, finance and marketing. You'll build your knowledge of accounting information systems, auditing, and financial and management accounting. You’ll also develop project management skills and an awareness of ethics, human rights, sustainability and public policy.

Electives include an accounting international study tour, internships and languages. We have connections with universities in over 40 countries, which includes top international business schools and the Berlin School of Economics. We encourage you to undertake student exchange and study abroad programs, many of which are financially supported.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.

Majors

Accounting, Business, Business Law, Finance.

Potential Career Outcomes

Many company directors and managers began their careers as accounting graduates, and accountants continue to play a key role in organisational strategy and management. You could go on to build a career in finance, mining and resources, manufacturing or even the education sector.
