Overview

This double degree provides the legal knowledge and practical skills to handle the demands of 21st Century legal practice and a broad understanding of modern business. Double qualifications in business and law are recognised as attractive graduate attributes by law firms and organisations. Your studies will focus on developing practical commercial legal knowledge and an awareness of the international dimensions of law, while promoting critical thinking, ethical decision-making and social justice principles. The degree aims to develop ethical and professionally skilled graduates with a breadth of knowledge in areas relevant to legal practice and an appreciation of the law's interaction with other disciplines, including international dimensions. The core content is built around themes of commercial legal practice, international and human rights law and ethical practice, with a commitment to social justice and engagement with the community through a pro bono practical placement.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

Subject proficiency: As for Year 12 or equivalent.
