Overview

This degree will provide you with a deeper understanding of how to help the community. You’ll learn in a personal atmosphere through practical experience from experts with strong links to the health sector, government and community. You’ll study processes and structures related to providing services in specialist areas such as childcare, education, welfare, development and learning, family studies and child protection, and learn about ethics in child, youth and family services. In your second and third years, you’ll undertake a professional placement, enabling you to enhance your practical experience. This includes working five days each week during your placement period. Potential Career Outcomes

You’ll be qualified to lead child and family programs in the early years’ health and community services sector. You’ll also be qualified for positions in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander services, child and family welfare, child protection and child safety services, community-based organisations, community development, family support services, foster care services, services for women, welfare organisations, and policy and research.
