Flinders University - Bedford Park Campus
This double degree is only available for application by school leavers - i.e. applicants who are competing for entry on the basis of performance in SACE Stage 2 studies or the International Baccalaureate or the interstate/overseas equivalent and do not have an academic record of study at higher education level (including Bachelor degrees from TAFE or RTOs). The latter means that applicants have either never enrolled in a higher education level program at an Australian/overseas university, or equivalent; or have enrolled in such programs but have withdrawn from these studies before a result other than Withdraw Not Fail has been recorded. Applicants who have completed higher education subjects as part of SACE (or equivalent) are eligible to apply.
Applicants must have registered to sit the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT). Only UCAT scores from test held July 2023 will be considered. Applicants will be asked to enter their UCAT identification number when they lodge their SATAC application.
Applicants who have completed some study at higher education level and have an academic record of study should consider applying for the Doctor of Medicine (MD) once they complete their undergraduate degree - see www.flinders.edu.au/md for more information.
The double degree prepares graduates to take up roles as paid hospital interns, after which they are qualified for medical registration in Australia, with the potential to follow a full range of medical specialities in their subsequent training.
There is a similar pathway leading to a Flinders MD offered in Darwin. Flinders, in conjunction with Charles Darwin University, offers a Bachelor of Clinical Sciences which leads into the Flinders Medical program, taught in Darwin - see SATAC code 104661.
Applicants who have applied on time but shuffle this preference after the 1 Dec 2023 will not be guaranteed equal consideration. Applicants who have applied on time will be required to have all pending or missing grades and/or adjustment factors finalised no later than 31 December 2023 to be guaranteed equal consideration.
Applicants are advised that should they receive an offer for a place in this degree they will be required to enrol in topics in the degree by the enrolment deadline stated in the letter of offer from SATAC. If they do not enrol via the Flinders University Student System by the specified date and maintain enrolment, their offer of a place in the degree will be forfeit. Applicants who receive an offer for a place in this degree should also note that if they subsequently receive an offer to a higher preference, their offer of a place in this degree will be deemed superseded and will also be forfeit.
The ATAR and Selection Rank profile is not available as entry is based on other criteria for this course.
