Overview

Computer Science is the fuel that drives transformation and innovation in today's society. In the Bachelor of Computer Science, you will become familiar with the fundamental tools of the field, including programming languages, algorithms and artificial intelligence. You will then apply these tools to build software systems that help people to solve complex and challenging real world problems or to more effectively navigate the digital world.

You will choose one of two specialisations: Advanced Computer Science, which challenges your problem-solving skills, or Data Science, which dives deeply into an important application area. To obtain practical experience you again choose: take a year-long project on a topic of interest or apply for a half-year placement in the Industry Based Learning program.

The course also has eight free electives, which you can use to explore complementary interests: either in Computer Science or in other subject areas from across the University.
