The Bachelor of Creative Arts (Visual effects and Entertainment Design) (Honours) aims to equip students with professional skills in digital media production, including the operation of software and hardware and to plan, develop and complete a digital media product. This degree develops an understanding of screen and digital media through historical developments, social and cultural applications, and the function of formal and aesthetic properties in various forms and capabilities for the application of logical thought, analysis, and creative research skills in ways that will enhance both the creative and practical processes required by digital media production.
On completion of this degree students will be able to apply the advanced creative, cognitive and technical skills required by professional practitioners in the creative industries to produce and promote original creative work and to model appropriate, high level knowledge of research principles and methods, including the ethical considerations of research and artistic activity in the creative industries.
This degree prepares graduates for employment in a wide range of careers in the arts and communications industries nationally and internationally. Potential occupations may include concept artist, animator and digital designer; potential employers may include VFX companies, video game developers and media production companies.
