Cybercrime is rapidly on the rise. Get qualified and help fill the global shortage of cyber security professionals. Learn the fundamentals, including encryption systems, access control and how network architecture and the internet is used to defend online data. Prepare for an in-demand and well-paid career across industries – from defence to media, health, business and more.

Our Work Integrated Learning program bolsters your CV with real industry experience such as placements, internships and industry-linked projects. In this course, you’ll undertake six projects – one per semester – and each will build on the last.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English other than EAL or at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL).

Majors

Cyber security ethics law and policy, IT security, Malware analysis, Network administration, Network routing principles, Network security and resilience, Networks and switching, Programming, Secure remote access networks, Web development.

Potential Career Outcomes

Graduates will have extensive skills associated to the cyber security of systems, networks, and programs. Examples of specific careers include cyber analysts, penetration testers, security consultants, and information security officers.
