Overview

Do you want to share your artistic passion and creativity with young people? If so, this double degree course is for you.

You'll investigate the broader function of the Fine Arts in society, learn from active Fine Art practitioners and develop skills and creativity as you rotate through workshops including painting, printmaking, photography and sculpture. Education study contributes knowledge and skills regarding how adolescents learn and are taught within the Fine Arts.

You'll qualify as a specialist teacher of Art, capable of leading innovation in a range of secondary school settings.

You may also seek opportunities in the creative arts world where an understanding of learning and development is relevant, perhaps in community cultural programs, museums, galleries or therapeutic settings.

Travel between campuses will be required.

This course is equivalent to 4.25 years of full time study but is completed in 4 calendar years.

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 1 and 2: satisfactory completion in two units (any study combination) of Maths: General Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics or Units 3 and 4: any Mathematics; Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.

Non-Year 12 prerequisites

As for Year 12 (or Year 12 equivalent).
