Overview

The Bachelor of Education (Secondary)/Bachelor of Arts (Design Innovation and Technologies) is designed for those intending to become Technologies teachers in secondary schools. This double degree includes a Design, Innovation and Technologies major sequence including subjects such as STEM Principles, Product Design, Design in Textiles, Food and Society, and Electromechanical Technologies, as well as a Computing Minor. Students also have the option to choose two discipline extensions from units such as Food and Nutrition, Food Industries, Design in Timber, Design in Metal, Engineering Technologies, Textile Industries and Textile Innovations. Discipline Extension: ACU offers subjects at our Rome campus, or students may elect to take a subject at one of our 85 educational partners around the world. An Education Studies sequence covers the key areas in learning and educational theory, as well as curriculum and teaching units in the selected specialist areas. Graduates may pursue a career in Catholic or other faith-based schools, government or independent secondary schools.
