Help shape the minds of the future; become a primary teacher. With a Swinburne Bachelor of Education (Primary) you will be qualified to teach in primary schools across Australia.

Led by experienced education professionals with recent or current classroom teaching practice, this course combines online learning with teaching placements in real school classrooms. Our students get great feedback from their placement schools – we ensure you are prepared and supported by our course tutors and advisors to make your placement a positive experience.

You will develop effective teaching techniques and activities that will engage and inspire your students, using the latest technology.

When you graduate, you’ll be qualified to practice as a primary teacher, with accreditation from the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).

Prerequisites

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: satisfactory completion of any English.

Potential Career Outcomes

Graduates will be specialised in the education and development of young children from five to 12 years of age. They will be qualified to undertake teaching positions in primary schools.
