Overview

This program prepares graduates for teaching in the areas of food and textiles in secondary schools. The program provides graduates with a broad understanding of technologies education through a range of specialised studies. The program has a practical focus and maintains links with industries and schools, as well as with the Design and Technology Teachers Professional Association and the Home Economics Institute of Australia.

Courses are taught in a range of locations, including the Mawson Lakes, Magill, City East and West campuses. Students should be aware that they will be required to travel to a range of locations to complete the program. Flexible study options are offered for some courses, and include study intensives and online offerings.

Opportunities exist in local, regional, interstate and international settings and employers include The Department for Education, Catholic Education Australia and religious-based and other independent schools.
