Flinders University - Bedford Park Campus
Commencing full-time or part-time students in this course will be considered for the Enabling Educator Excellence (E3) Scholarship, funded by the South Australian Government, without having to apply separately, provided they meet the specified criteria. Visit https://students.flinders.edu.au/finances-and-admin/support/scholarships for more information.
Students will undertake an initial teacher education degree with a specific focus on Physical Education and Health Education, and have the opportunity to undertake studies in outdoor education specifically within an initial teacher education degree. Our graduates gain the skills employers are seeking with our nationally and internationally recognised transformative curriculum, based on contemporary research understandings of how to prepare effective teachers, with teaching placements in secondary schools to learn practical skills, put theory into practice and develop important relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
The course placements will help students to develop and consolidate their teaching knowledge and skills in order to meet the necessary national standards for registration as a teacher. Students will be taught vital interpersonal skills that will help to form cooperative and effective professional relationships with students, staff and parents.
There are important Inherent Requirements for this course and applicants are strongly advised to become aware of those requirements available at www.flinders.edu.au/study/courses/education-inherent-requirements.
Applicants who do not meet entry into this degree are encouraged to apply for a Flinders University Diploma as a pathway www.flinders.edu.au/study/diplomas.
