Overview

Students choosing this double degree can combine a Bachelor of Engineering in one of most of the Engineering programs, together with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Management, Economics, Finance or Accounting. Students undertake the Bachelor of Engineering Pre-Major in their first year and, on successful completion, proceed, in their second year, to their Commerce major and the appropriate Engineering disciplines:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Civil and Construction Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Metallurgical Engineering
  • Mining Engineering

This double degree course is designed to prepare students who graduate as engineers with an excellent background in Commerce, which may broaden their future opportunities as engineering managers in their respective organisations in either public or private sectors.

The program equips graduates with a comprehensive technical foundation, together with business knowledge and skills in areas that are relevant and widely interrelated with engineering.

The combination of the two degrees can provide graduates with the versatility to seek wider opportunities in the developing engineering industry.

For the Metallurgical Engineering and Mining Engineering majors, part of this course will be undertaken at the prestigious Western Australian School of Mines (WASM) in Kalgoorlie.
